In china, children are required to go into primary school at the age of 6. Then it will take 6 years to study in primary school. At the end of primary school, there is a exam whose mark will decide which scholl children go to. Next, a 3-year middle school starts. This 9-year study(from primary school to middle school) is required to all the children in china. At the end of middle school, a high school entrance exam takes place. If children don't reach the required grade of a certain school, they maybe can’t step into a high school. As for the children who go into a high school, a more hard life starts. High school should be the hardest life during all the lifetime. Children spend 3 years studying in high school and then they'll take the university entrance examination. If they get the required grade of their ideal university, they can then begin their university life. In Britain, children go to primary school a year earlier than in China. Compared with china, children in Britain are reqiured more on tests. They will take key stage 1 test at 7 and key stage 2 test at 11. Then comes the secondary school. From 11 to 14, pupils take some basic courses such as English, maths and science and they will have key stage 3 test at 14. after that, their study will get harder for they must take not only the basic courses but other elective courses. 2 years later, like China, pupiles must have a key stage 4 test which is also
called GCSE—general certificate of secondary school. Having had the certificate, pupils are able to choose their own life: whether to continue study or stop to go to work. If their way is continuing studing, they will spend 2 years finishing the high school course.
