Chapter One At the Airport

Section 1 Business Background Tips

(The first impression is foremost.)

要确认对方身份,避免闹出笑话;接到外宾后,应首先表示欢迎:“You are warmly welcome to our country/city. I hope you will enjoy your stay here.”(“欢迎您来到我们的国家/城市,希望您在这里过得愉快。”)

(How was your trip?)

并加上:“If you need any help, just feel free to let me know.”(“有什么需要帮忙的,随时效劳。”)

4.True=You and me! 表面上是“你和我”的意思,其实在这里是“You and me feel the same way!”

可以缩写为freq.=at frequent intervals; often。 8.nevertheless是副词,=in spite of that; nonetheless; however表示然而;尽管如此;仍然。 9.the pleasure is all mine是高级商务用语,相当于you are welcome或it’s my pleasure. 10. Thank you.

12.ya,你,在现在的欧美口语里是you的弱读,很流行,如将“How are you doing?”读

为“How ya doing?”。

13.forgive表示原谅:容许失误或过失;原谅=to excuse for a fault or an offense; pardon。

17.take your time不急,慢慢来。

坐的人说take your time请慢用。

18.beautiful day,huh?

19.spare no efforts=spare no pains

Britain is an island off the western coast of Europe

comprising England, Scotland, and Wales. It is separated from the mainland by the English Channel and from Ireland by the Irish Sea.
