摘要：A communication system employing a single bus to connect multiple nodes orstations for the transmission of messages among them. The bus includes a data bus forthe transmission of the messages and an arbitration bus for the transmission of timingand control signals generated by the independent nodes without the use of a central ormaster control unit. By monitoring the arbitration bus and generating appropriate strobeand synchronization signals, the nodes determine before each message transmissionwhich node is to have priority if there are conflicting requests for bus access. A system oflogical addressing permits every node to be addressed by one or more logical

addresses, some of which may be shared by more than one node and others of which maybe unique to each node.
