摘要：An improved dial bore gage having an adjustment mechanism (16) associatedtherewith for adjusting the relative axial positions of the probe (14) and dial (12) portionsof the gage, the probe (12) including spaced and opposed work engaging members (66,68), the adjustment mechanism (16) enables an operator to easily and quickly zero in asetting on the dial indicator (40) to establish some desired preset probe diameter andincludes a first member (30) operatively connected to the dial portion (12) of the gagehaving a first threaded portion (44) associated therewith of a predetermined threadpitch, a second member (50) operatively connected to the probe portion (14) of the gagehaving a second threaded portion (52) associated therewith of a different predeterminedthread pitch, and an adjustment member (17) rotatably mounted to the first (30) and

second (50) members, the adjustment member (17) having spaced threaded portions (46,48) to correspond to and mate with the threaded portions (44, 52) on the first (30) andsecond (50) members whereby rotation of the adjustment member (17) will producerelative axial movement between the first (30) and second (50) members and this in turnwill produce changes in the gage setting for each position thereof when the workengaging members (66, 68) on the probe portion (14) are maintained in fixed spacedrelation to each other. The present dial bore gage also includes a mechanism (96, 98) forreleasing pressure on the work engaging members (66, 68) of the gage to facilitateinsertion and removal thereof into and out of a bore to be gaged and mechanisms (74)for providing both axial and angular backlash compensation between the probe (14) anddial (12) portions of the gage.
