Regarded watching movies as an pproach to learn English, the most important thing, however, is that learners should select the most suitable movies, those that are of great value to their in terms of language level and English individual Western cultures. Watching movies is an excellent approach for learning English.

Introduction

Watching English movies is a very helpful and interesting way to learn

English.The purpose of my paper is to introduce this method. Not only can you obtain information about cultures by watching movies, but you can also master useful expressions that are used in daily communication by native speakers. Most of the dialogues in movies from the west contain idiomatic expressions that are useful for learners of English. Meantime, they can also improve their listening ability. Qiu zheng zheng, the director of an oral English training center who is an expert in using movies to teach English said that watching authentic movies can impart western culture and language to learners.But unfortunately, some movies focus too much on visual and sensory stimulation. So, they are not suitable tools for improving learners’ English. Such movies ignore the essence of the language. So,we must be mindful of this when deciding which movies to watch.
