The Person That I Admire Most

Once my leg was broken during a football match. Hearing the news, my father got very worried and rushed to the hospital to see me. It took me two weeks to get better. My father took care of me in the hospital during the two weeks. I was moved to tears.

Personally, the most important thing that I learn from my father is responsibility. I'm so thankful for what he has done for me and promise to become an excellent and helpful person in the future.

I Like Reading

Of all the bookstores mentioned above, I like Bart's Books in the US best. It's completely built outdoors. In this way, we can enjoy the sunshine while reading the books, which must be a relaxing experience.

As for my reading habits, I usually go to the library or bookstore nearby to read books for about two hours at weekends. By the way, I am interested in Chinese and foreign novels because they can not only teach me a lot of useful things, but also help improve my skills of writing.

Just as a saying goes, “Reading makes a full man.” So in order to improve ourselves, we should try to read some good books in our free time, instead of watching TV or playing with phones.

After­class Activities

Nowadays, after-class activities are becoming more and more popular. As for me, my favorite after­class activity is swimming.

When I was young, I was a little fat and everybody liked to laugh at me. In order to lose weight, I decided to join the swimming club and swam after class every day. It was really tiring and I almost gave up. Luckily, with the encouragement of my friends, I kept on training. After three months, I lost some weight and became more healthy than before.

Swimming is an after­class activity which does lots of good to me. Swimming not only builds up my body but also reduces the stress from study.

When I was in primary school, I had trouble in speaking English. One afternoon in the English class, my teacher asked me to answer his question in English. I was so nervous that I couldn't say out any words and other students all laughed at me. My best friend Li Ming understood how I was going through. He put his hand on my shoulder and told me, “Come on. You can do that.” To my surprise, I finally made it.

My English Learning

English is one of my best subjects.

I started to learn English when I was 7 years old. At the beginning, learning English seemed to be a little difficult for me. I had difficulty in understanding what foreigners were talking about when communicating with them. So I did a lot of practice, such as listening to tapes and watching English TV programs to improve my English. I found it very useful for me to keep on practising English every day.

In fact, there are some more helpful ways to learn English well. For example, we should make as many friends from English­speaking countries as possible. Besides, we can read more English books and magazines. I believe that nothing is impossible if you put your heart into it.

Nowadays, we can still see some students with bad manners and behaviors at school from time to time.

Last month, I went to the school library to study for the coming final exam. Two boys sitting next to me were talking loudly about their favorite stars while I was memorizing English words. The noise stopped me from focusing on my study. I told them to keep quiet in the library, since they would bother not only me but also others. They realized their behaviors weren't good and promised me not to do that again. Now, we sometimes meet each other in the library and I have noticed that they don't make noise any more.

From my experience, I find it important to know how to use mobile phones properly. We must make sure that we don't use mobile phones in class if we take them to school.
