摘要：In order to provide enhanced database-derived information, such as enhanceddirectory assistance, a directory assistance operator receives a request from atelecommunications system user for listing information of a business that provides a

desired product or service. A merchant database, containing business listings, as well asdetailed data regarding products and services sold by at least some businesses, issearched in accordance with rules that consider travel time to the merchants and otherknown characteristics relating to the desired product or service. The search results arethen presented to the user through spoken and/or visual means.
