Task 1: Situational dialogue (3 minutes) Item One

A和B谈论对刚看过的电影的印象，如情节、演员的演技、服装、化妆、音响效果等。（Asking for impressions and responding）

S: Hi, jianyifan. Have you see the very popular movie named The Fast and the Furious 6 （速度与激情）recently?

J: Hi ,shimin. Of course! This movie is quiet dramatic（戏剧性的，激动人心的） and the plot(情节)impressed me deeply !

S: Hum. Yes! \"Speed 6\" plot to undertake(承接) a \"speed 5\" story, Dominic（多米尼克） after leading partners do a gain of one hundred million dollars(一亿), leading a happy life in the world, but being a wanted man(通缉犯) cannot get everyone really happy .Hobbes（霍布斯） recruited(雇佣) Dominic gang（团伙）and mercenary group（佣兵集团）, the condition is to let Dominic and his brothers were forgiven（豁免）. In order for Dominic to find the truth of her revive(复活), but also for all the brothers ultimate（终极） pardon（赦免）, once again gathered the class people, for the family, to fight for freedom.“

J: That they were fighting for(为··而战) family and freedom made every action they took more meaningful than before .Additionally, the actors acting skill was excellent! The director special effects(特技·电影) in the movie .These effects gave me a big shock. There are not many big stars in the movie. Therefore , the manufacture(制造) funds（资金）is not too much. This manner really has several minute \"cool is born\" the flavor(风味).

S: The actors have athlete's body and spirit, star's cheek(脸颊), reactionary（主义的） gang, chieftain's（领袖，酋长） stubborn（顽固）, lets you think the eye one is bright. If this piece begins using the widely known star, the effect instead is not possibly good, cannot let the person feel rushed in a very dangerous novel world.

J: There is no wonder that this movie achieved great success .As I know \"Speed And Fervor\" screened the first weekend to sell for 41.6 million US dollars.

S: Wow! How cool! Team two:

B(S): Thank! But we cannot make this without the help of your team.

A: And your team must have made much effort for the performance. We are all shock by your talent in music. The voice is so beautiful!

B: I am so happy and flattered(感到荣幸的，过分夸赞的). Actually, I have learned music for five years. And I have to pay a lot to practice the songs and the pronunciation in order to make the voice and the songs sound better. Though the performance is a success, there are still a lot of aspects needing to improve. In fact,

I really admire your ability of organization management. The whole party is organized very well!

A: It is not my own merit(功劳). As cochairmen(副), my ministers(), officers (干事) and I arranged the party attentively(用心地). So we are all happy to see that the party being hold smoothly. And I have to learn more to provide more service more students.

B: Wow! That is so great! So why not to have a dinner together to celebrate the success for both of us?

A: Good idea. Let’s go now.

Item Three

A与B是室友。A习惯早起早睡等，B则恰恰相反，两人交谈如何调整相互适应。（Interrupting and Arguing）

A: Hi! Have you had your lunch? B: Not yet! Let’s go for lunch together.

A: Ok! We have changed the dormitory(宿舍) .Recently I find that you are used to stay up and get up late, while I am used to sleep early and get up early.

B: I know that as well. The time difference makes some things trouble, like that when I stay up to complete my job, you are trying to fall asleep with the light and the noise. I am sorry for that, but I do not know how to deal with it. I love the quietness in the evening and at night, I have the long enough time without gap(间断) to complete something troublesome(麻烦的). And I do not leave the job till tomorrow. But I want to To change the situation that trouble you.

A: I feel sorry for that I disturb you in the morning as well. But I have to get up early to read English in the English Corner. I cannot miss the party every morning. In addition, I have to exercise in the morning. There are so many things I have to do in the morning. So I have to get up early. Why not come with me to have a more regular life? It is good for your health.

B: I know that. But it is hard for me to get up early in the morning though it is really good for me. I will try to make it. Before that, I will make less noise when dealing with the job late at night.

A: Thank you ! I will do so.

Item Four

A和B是大学同学，多年未见，在毕业10周年聚会上，两人回忆大学时的学习和生活，如一起练习英语口语和在冬天晨跑健身等。（Talking about past events）

A(J): Hi. Long time no see. How are you going?

B(S): Fine. We have not seen each other for 10 years! Time flies by! A(J): Yes! I can still remember the time we spent together in the college! B(S): So do I! I remember we got up early in the morning to read English in the English Corner. The life was tough. But we were so happy that we could have our goal and dream, which was much better than others who lost themselves in the college.

A(J): That was a meaningful activity I have ever taken. We worked so hard so that we could not fall behind other students. When we got good grade, we smiled at each other happily. In addition, we have the winter long-distance running to lose weight.

B(S): Yes! I remember we ran more than 4 thousand miters each night. It was in the winter. So we were considered crazy to run in the wind and eat nothing at night. But our pay worked well! We lost 5 kilograms in that winter. I was so glad we could make it.

A(J): Struggling for the goals with you was an exciting thing! It seemed that we could complete all things if we wanted. We looked for the part-time job, attended

kings of lectures and so on. We truly made much money and learned a lot of knowledge that we can used in the future.

B(S): I am so missing the time we stayed together. A(J): So am I.

Item Five

Identifying problems and suggesting a course of action

A的笔记本突然出现故障，B提醒A查看有关问题，如电池是否有电、联系维修人员看是否中了病毒，内存是否够用等。

B(S): What is up?

A(J): There are something wrong with my computer. It does not work! B(S): Is there some electricity in your computer before it does not work? A(J): Yes, I charged it 1 hour before the breakdown. So there is enough electricity to support it to work.

B(S): Why not contact the serviceman(维修人员) to check whether it is caught a computer virus infection? The virus is terrible for a computer.

A(J): I have called, but it does not work, they said it does not caught the virus. So they have left before you came.

B(S): What were you doing on computer before I came? Surf online?

A(J): At first, I chat with my friend online. Then I download a software and at that time the computer does work.

B(S): Is there some computer memory(电脑内存) left On the computer disk C(C盘)?

A(J): Only a little space left. Is there problem?

B(S): Yes, I guess the reason your computer does not work is that your computer memory is used up. So now take the computer to the maintenance company(维修公司) to repair it.

A(J): Thank you so much. B(S):My pleasure!

Item Six

A忙于兼职工作和社会活动，考试成绩不理想，深表自责，同时担心会被父母责备，同学笑话，同学B安慰他。（Blaming and comforting）

B(S): Hi, what’s up? You look not very fine. What can I do for you?

A(J): Frankly, there is something troublesome. And I don’t know what to do and how to make up for it.

B: I will spare no effort to help you get rid of the trouble. But what are you worried about?

A: I am busy at part-time job and society activities, so I don’t have enough time to focus on my schoolwork. The final exam is over, and my grad is not good. I am worry about being blamed by my parents and being laughed by my classmates.

B: Oh, I am so sorry to hear that. I think you should face with that difficulty. The exam is over, so the first thing you should do now is not to be so depressed. Being depressed makes no sense.

A: I see.

B: You should tell your parents the truth, analysis the reason and make a promise. Your parents will not blame on you for your apology. As for the classmates, you don’t need mind other’s opinion and what they said. Just work hard and balance the study and other activities in the next term. The most

important thing is to figure out the reason and To overcome the shortcomings. You will be successful sooner or later.

A: Thank you so much. I will keep the faith and work harder. Thank you. B: My pleasure.

Item Seven

新生A和B在学校外语角相遇，交流对大学四年学习生活的憧憬和规划。 （Talking about one’s expectations and plans）

A(J): Hi, nice to meet you. Glad to meet you in the English Corner. B(S): Nice to meet you, too. How do you like the life in the college? A: It’s exciting! And I have some plans for the next four years.

B: It’s great to have some goals to lead you where to go. What’s your plan? A: I plan to have a colorful life in college. First of all, I will try my best to get good grade. Then I will take part in all kinds of activities which I like to enrich(充实) my life. What about you?

B: I will put the study on the first place so that I can get some scholarship. In addition, I plan to take part in the postgraduate entrance exams(考研),so I have to study hard. If the time is available, I will take part-time jobs and join in some school and society activities to expand my horizon. I think that will be good for the life when we step into the society.

A: Wow! How cool! I don’t want to attend graduate school, so I plan to learn more about how to get along well with each other and how to deal with some trouble when we handle affairs.

B: Good! Taking some activities is helpful for improving EQ which is as the same important as IQ. I think that characters are essential for success! So I will

focus on this sooner or later. Wish you have a satisfied college life.

Item Eight

学生A和B交流中外寓言故事或格言带来的启示和智慧。（Traditional Stories or Proverbs）

A(J): Hi. How is it going recently? B(S): Fine! And you?

A: Fine. And I am reading some books about Traditional Stories. Each story has their unique(独特的) meaning.

B. Can you remember some stories we have ever learned? The farmer and the snake, Tortoise(乌龟) and the hare（野兔）and so on. The story of Tortoise(乌龟) and the hare（野兔）was the earliest story I have heard.

A: It sounded funny at the first time. But it tells us a essential(基本的，精华的) moral(寓意) that “Modesty helps one go forward, while conceit（自负） makes one lag behind.”（虚心使人进步，骄傲使人落后)

B: That’s right. So no matter how big success we have gotten, we cannot be conceit(自负).

A: I have heard some story that some successful figures(人物) failed at last just because there were too much confidence and pride in their mind.

B: This phenomenon(现象) is all too common. If we stop our step, we will be left behind soon. Just like in life, we should always keep a modest and aggressive(积极进取) attitude. Only by this, can we go farther in the future.

A: Actually we know this truth(道理)as early as a teenager. B: What a pity to see that they make mistakes like this.
