摘要：This invention is tracking a motion of a body by obtaining two types ofmeasurements associated with the motion of the body, one of the types includingacoustic measurement. An estimate of either an orientation or a position of the body isupdated based on one of the two types of measurements, for example based on inertialmeasurement obtained by an inertial measurement unit (140). The estimate is thenupdated based on the other of the two types of measurements, for example based onacoustic ranging obtained by ultrasonic range measurement units (110). The inventionalso features determining range measurements to selected reference devices that arefixed in the environment of the body, for example ultrasonic beacons (122) fixed inultrasonic beacon array (120).
